custom canoe trips at PaddleFootPetawawa River
Canoe Trip
5 - 7 Days
We run the section of river between lake Travers and and Lake McManus inside Algonquin Provincial Park. This is an ideal section of river for those interested in learning some new river moves in a beautiful setting.
Offering stunning nights at some of the park's lush pine campsites. Those who paddle the Petawawa experience one of Canada's classic canoe routes.

This relatively tame run is punctuated by some good bouldery rapids. Whitewater sections like The Natch, and Rollaway Rapids offer good class II-III play. The Petawawa presents an exciting challenge for novice to intermediate paddlers. Long stretches of continuous class I rapids are an ideal opportunity to practice those peel-outs and eddy turns.

Custom canoe trips ave available at many locations.Noire River
Canoe trip
3 - 7 Days
Another one of the Ottawa Valley's classic runs the Noire River has an almost creek-like charm. Starting off around 90 km from the mouth we experience the best the Noire has to offer. As though made for canoeing, the shallow technical runs offer tandem and solo boaters fine back country play time.

From hilltop perches to sandy shoals this short section offers the complete range of Ottawa Valley campsites. The narrow winding path of the river makes it ideal for wildlife encounters and birding. Moose, beaver, otter, mink are common sightings along the pine shore.
The more technical class III rapids are "pool and drop", offering good play for the adventurous.

custom white water canoe tripsThe Noire's pushy current, tight turns, and tighter portages make it a must paddle for those interested in a truly classic creek run.

Dumoine River
Canoe Trip
3 - 7 days

The Dumoine river has long been a canoe tripping icon. Flowing through the heart of the Ottawa Valley, the river has a rustic charm that hearkens back to a pioneering spirit. The best rapids section is "drop and pool" allowing for moments to relax and catch your breath, (or bail your canoe) before heading on down for more excitement. Many clients choose to fly in.

Coulonge River
Canoe Trip
3 - 7 days

The Coulonge is the least inhabited of the rivers here, with the exception of Gens de Terre, and still carries a feel of remoteness almost all the way to the end of our trip route. Well worn portage trails and forgiving rapids make this a prime river for beginners. Many consider this the finest tripping river in western Quebec.

Gens de Terre River
Playboat Trips
4 Days

Running between the Baskatong and Cabonga reservoirs in LaVerendrye Park, the Gens de Terre makes for a challenging run. The crux section of this river runs through an 80 ft deep canyon that puts out continuous class II-IV rapids for 25 km.

This river is not for beginners. For intermediates and experts though, it presents an opportunity to play and explore a seldom traveled waterway. Characterized by steep drops and technical moves in pushy currents the Gens de Terre presents a unique canyon river experience in an area with few such challenges.

Spring Rouge River
Canoe Trip
3 days
We meet at the head of the river and camp out near the edge of the reserve faunique Rouge-Mattawin, next to Park Mont Tremblant. We take our time going down Ten Mile Rapids, and spend the night at one of the Rivers serene campsites. In the tradition of all spring trips, we bring the great food, but you bring the bug repellent! Though these are spring trips, the mosquitoes are not too bad on the Rouge. We still recommend a bug shirt for around the campsite.

For all these rivers, our group meets at PaddleFoot's Basecamp early in the morning. For seven whitewater intensive days, we take in the best of the rivers class I-III rapids. The PaddleFoot shuttle takes us back to Basecamp at the end of our trip.

Skilled guides provide tips to improve your paddling, and with short daily paddling distances we have lots of time to play in the best of the rapids. Scouting rapids is routine, and led by the trip guide. We take a break to ponder the awesome force of the major waterfalls and chutes.

All PaddleFoot trips are led by experienced guides who are certified Swiftwater Rescue Technicians, and Wilderness First Responders. They are skilled paddlers and teachers who are happy to share what they know. You will appreciate their professionalism at all moments of your trip.

PaddleFoot provides top quality equipment for our trips. Rugged ABS canoes are forgiving in rapids. Helmets and PFD’s are also provided for your safety. Around the campsite, you will appreciate the comfort of our four-person expedition tents. Take some time to relax beside a waterfall, or simply enjoy the camaraderie of the campfire. What about the food? Why it's delicious, of course! The deluxe menu includes lots of fresh foods, and a variety of dinners that will surprise you.
